Skechers is one of the largest shoe companies in the United States and is headquartered at Manhattan Beach, California. The Moreno Valley distribution center of Skechers consists of state-of-the-art technology and is a 1.82-million-square-foot distribution center. The Moreno Valley distribution center was opened in late 2011. The pay is higher in this warehouse as compared with others and much of the work is automated. The entire warehouse is a green-building which implements energy saving features such as solar panels. So let’s take a look at the employment opportunities there.

Company History –
Skechers was founded in the year 1992 by C.E.O Robert Greenberg and his son Michael. Robert had also founded the company L.A Gear in 1983. He left LA Gear to begin Skechers in 1992. Michael was a distributor for the Company Doc Martens. They were embroiled in a legal dispute with Doc Martens over the shoes of their company being knock-offs of Doc Marten products. That was in the 90s. Today, the company has more than 190 owned locations worldwide, in more than 100 countries, and employs more than 4,600 people.

required to carry out the loading, unloading, picking, stocking, fabrication and transportation of goods. You’ll follow safety policies and procedures and maintain the condition of the work area. You will be required to lift weights of up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time, which is normal for warehouse jobs. The job might also involve overnight travel, though not for the most part( less than 10% of the time). The candidate must be at least 18 years old and pass a drug test as well as background check. A High School diploma or GED is required. An experience with forklifts and warehouse machinery is preferred.

Ultimately, it was decided that Skechers will fork over $40 million to settle charges with FTC. The company did refund its customers who bought the above mentioned line of products though. As far as career opportunities and senior leadership is concerned, the company does not fare well in those aspects. Just 52% employees approve of the C.E.O Robert Greenberg.
