Gap Inc. was founded in 1969 by Donald G. Fisher and Doris F. Fisher. The first Gap store was opened in Ocean Avenue in San Francisco. It’s second store was opened in San Jose, California in 1970. By the year 1973, Gap had expanded out of California and had more than 25 stores. In the year 1974, Gap began to sell private-label merchandise. After the death of Donald G.
